Sunday mornings

Intercessions

Our intercessions (prayers) are led by members of the congregation at our parish eucharist service. Training for this ministry is held in the parish.

Readers

The Bible is read by members of the congregation at all of our 10.00am services, at mattins and at evensong. If you would like to read at our services, please contact the Parish Administrator.

Servers

Children from KS2 and KS3 are invited to join our team of young servers for the Parish Eucharist. The younger children carry the processional candles and older children carry the Bible and help the priest at the altar. If your child is interested in serving, please contact Godfrey Hilliard who will train the children in this service.

Adults serve at our Parish Eucharist and our Sung Eucharist service.

Coffee

We serve coffee and biscuits after our 10.00am services. This is an important part of our morning fellowship. If you would like to keep the coffee flowing please contact Liz Gordon at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

ChoristersChoir

If you are an enthusiastic singer aged 10-18, come and sing with our choristers.

They rehearse at 7.50-8.30am on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Hinchley Wood School. They sing at the 3rd Sunday Family Services, and also alongside the professional choral scholars for major services and choral evensongs. Choristers are presented with Royal School of Church Music medals and ribbons, and have the opportunity to be admitted as Head Chorister. They also get to read lessons in Carol Services.

Don't be shy! Do ask about joining us by contacting the Director of Music, Robert Woolley, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Copse and Churchyard Working Parties

Why not burn up some excess energy and make some new friends by joining our Copse and Churchyard Working Party which meets four times a year to help maintain and tidy the churchyard and grounds. Working parties take place on a Saturday morning, starting at 9.30am and last as long as people feel able to stay! Coffee, juice and biscuits are provided.

Dates for this year's working parties are shown on the Events Calendar.

St Mary's Guild

The Guild was set up in the 1950s to foster a sense of community amongst those who worship at St Mary's, ensure a warm welcome for newcomers and help meet the needs of local young people, the elderly, infirm and lonely. Today the Guild mainly organises the funding and provision of various forms of church hospitality throughout the year, from coffee and wine after the morning and special services, to our popular Harvest Lunch, the profits from which fund our activities for the year. We are always looking for new volunteers to cook or help out at events - it is a fun and rewarding way to take part in life at St Mary's and make some new friends in the process.
